The New Faculty Orientation and Workshop Series

The Center for Teaching and Learning is excited to announce the 2008 New Faculty Workshop Series. Now in its sixth year, this workshop series aims to provide relevant information about teaching at DU, discuss effective teaching techniques, and allow new faculty members from different divisions to meet each other and develop relationships that will last for years to come.

What different strategies and technologies can I use to engage students in the classroom? How can I get feedback on their learning?
Grading Practices and the DU Honor Code - October 10, 9:00 - 11:00
How do I use tests and assignments to motivate my students? How do I manage all this grading? What do I do if I suspect academic dishonesty?
Time Management - October 17, 9:00 - 11:00
How do I balance all the various duties and responsibilities I have as a new faculty member? A panel of recent new faculty members will be on hand to share tips and answer questions.
