Previous Coffee Breaks
Religion in the Classroom
Friday, April 1, 10:00-11:30 am
Even if it is not an explicit aspect of a course, religion often influences the underlying assumptions of ‘meaning making’ in the classroom. How do we respect diverse religious beliefs in the classroom? How do we teach highly-charged religious issues? How do we create productive conversations with students whose religious beliefs contradict our assumptions? At what level should the beliefs of faculty be brought into the conversation? Join University Chaplain Gary Brower and your colleagues for a thoughtful discussion about religion and teaching.

Using Clickers in the Classroom
Friday, February 22, 10:00-11:00 am
Student response systems, or clickers, allow students to participate in presentations or lectures by submitting responses to interactive questions using a hand-held device. Are you using Clickers in your classes? Interested in learning how other instructors are using them? Come share your experiences, strategies, challenges, and questions with your colleagues.
