Test Manager

This quarter, I have been unable to successfully download Blackboard gradebooks for opening in Excel. I had no problem with this process until this quarter. I have tried saving as a text file, but what opens in Excel afterwards is "Blackboard Courses," not the gradebook itself. Do you have unupdated set of instructions for this process?
Problem was resolved after we discovered problem occurred for this particular course because faculty had used quotation marks on some of the titles of gradebook items. If you use quotations within titles of items in the Bb gradebook - the gradebook will not export correctly. Remove the quotations and it will export successfully.

Is there any easy way to add a score to an assessment column in the gradebook after the assessment is complete - this question is for an assessment created in Bb? Or do I have to create a separate column for makeup exams?

About Test Manager
The Test Manager feature creates and organizes surveys and exams. Exam results can be graded and recorded in the online Gradebook.

Note: It is more efficient to create your questions in the Pool Manager first and then add the test in the Content Area sections (Course Information, Course Documents, and Assignments).

I have several multiple choice tests saved as Word documents. Is there an easy way to add them to my Blackboard class without having to recreate them as tests in Blackboard?
Yes, there is a tool called Respondus that imports test questions from a Word document or a text file into Blackboard. Please contact Kathy Keairns (kkeairns@du.edu) for assistance.

What is the correct format for converting my Word document into a Blackboard test or survey using the Respondus Tool?
Each question needs to begin with a number followed by a period "1." or "1)" and each answer must begin with a letter (a-t) followed by a period or ")". Finally you need to place an asterisk (*_) directly in front of each answer (Ex: *a. my answer) or place a list of correct answers at the end of the file. Example:

1. a

2. b

3. c

You may download a 30 day trial of respondus from their website. We also have several individual licenses on campus. Contact Kathy Keairns (14156) for more information.

Help. I’m trying to add an image to my test question but I don't see an option to do this.
You must select the option to add Images, Files and External Links within the Test Creation Settings. You may add images, files and external links to both questions and answers in Blackboard tests but by default, these options are not visible until they selected within the Test Creation Settings. Click on the Creation Settings button link next to the Go button. From there you can choose to provide feedback to individual answers, add images, files and URLs to questions, add images and files to answers, and add categories to questions.
