Course Copy

When you copied my course, it showed that Blackboard Administrator posted all the announcements - what's up with that?

When we copy a course in Blackboard and do not copy the users, it will appear that the Bb administrator posted previous announcements. A work-around for this would be to include users and then remove all users but the instructor.

About Course Copy

The Copy Course page enables Instructors to copy content from other courses they are teaching. Instructors can select areas, such as Announcements, Staff Information or content areas to copy from one course to another. Copy Course will add content to a course, but it will not remove existing content.

To open the Copy Course page, click Course Copy in Course Options on the Course Control Panel.

Can I copy/move individual documents from one course to another?

Instructors are able to copy or move content and place it in another area within the same course or in another course. Entire folders and Learning Units can also be copied. Instructors must have an Instructor role in the destination course when content is moved or copied to another course. The Copy Content and Modify Content pages are similar in manner. Instructors can choose whether to delete an item after it is copied or to also keep it in its original place.

Can I copy files from another instructor's course?

Yes, but you must be listed as an instructor in both the "To" and "From" course.

Can I copy content to multiple courses at one time?

No, you can only copy to one course at a time.

I want to reuse my Blackboard course materials from my Blackboard class from last term. How do I copy course materials from one Blackboard course container into an existing container?

Click on Copy Course from the Course Options Area within the Control Panel of the course where the course materials reside. Click Copy Course Materials into an Existing Course from the Copy Course Page. Refer to the link below for step-by-step instructions.

Hint: You will need to know the Destination’s Blackboard course ID. To find the course ID, click on the Courses Tab – the Blackboard course ID is located directly below the course’s name.
