How do I change the title or description of my course?

Click on your course Control Panel.
From the Course Options area, click on Settings. Click on Course Name and Description . Enter new course name or description and click submit.

How do I recategorize my Blackboard course in the Blackboard Course Catalog?

Click on your course Control Panel

From the Course Options area, click on Course Settings.

Click on Course Category option. Scroll down in "Add Category" box and find correct Quarter and Category. Click the Add button and click submit. You may want to click the Remove button to remove the course from a previous quarter/category.

How do I make changes to the navigation button?

Instructors can manage the appearance of the Course menu from the Course Design:
Style page. They can choose to use a button or text navigation style and select
colors and design features from this area.

Follow the steps below to open the Course Design: Style page.

Step 1 Select Course Settings in Course Options on the Course
Control Panel.

Step 2 Click Course Design.

Step 3 Click Course Design.

How do I add a banner to my course?

First, you need to create a banner in an imaging software program like Adobe Photoshop. Once you have created and saved your banner, follow the steps below.

Enter your course and from the Control Panel click on:

· Course Options
· Course Images
· Course Banner
· Click Browse and locate banner file (make sure to choose "all files" if the banner file is not an html file)
· Click Submit

The Banner will now appear on the Course Home Page under Announcements

How do I interpret my course name in Blackboard 6?

Starting Fall 2003 when instructors log into Blackboard 6 they will see their entire course listing for this current quarter and possibly future courses. Each course name has a standard naming convention that represents the department, course number, section number, course name and time period. How do I locate my Blackboard Course ID?

Your Course ID can be seen by clicking the Course tab on your top navigation bar in Blackboard. This number is important to know when attempting to copy content from one course to another.
