Assessment

My students were taking my mid-term in class and received an error message when they tried to submit their quiz in Blackboard. Students have taken several quizzes in this class before today and this has never happened before. What is going on?
There is a problem with long assessments in Blackboard. Other universities reported to archive that there is a 3 hour limit and then it will time out. Steve Hick is the instructor and this was a very long quiz. Still researching this problem (5/1/02)

How to I make my test available to my students?
After you create a test in Blackboard, you need to deploy the test within a content area in Blackboard. Select the content area from your control panel (i.e., Assignments) where you want to add the test. Click on the "Add Test" option and select your test from the "Select an existing test" box. Click Submit.

To make the test available to your students and to select test feedback and presentation options, you will need to modify the test options. Click the "Modify" button next to the test name in the content area of the control panel. Choose "Modify the test options" and select "yes" for the "do you want to make this link visible" option.

I have used the Pool Manager to create a Blackboard test, but have run into problems when trying to assign point values to individual questions. What steps should I take during the creation of a test to ensure that the correct points are assigned?
This problem is related to users who create pools using Respondus. Instructors who have uploaded test pools using the Pool Manager and have found that although they assigned point value in Respondus, they appear as 0 points in the Test Canvas even when points are assigned using the Creation Settings. To avoid having to manually assign point values, when creating Blackboard tests using Respondus, upload the file as a test (rather than a pool) to get the correct points assigned to individual questions. Alternatively, you can avoid this problem by creating your test pool in Blackboard.
