Known Issues - Bb 7.3

Help, I can’t open PowerPoints in Blackboard. When I click on the Open button, it opens a blank PowerPoint presentation. Can this problem be fixed?

This problem is related to Office Updates, specifically SP 1. To resolve this problem, install the latest Office updates to your computer. If you are using Windows XP, double-click on the yellow updates icon on your right lower toobar and run an Express Install.

Help! My inbox has been flooded with e-mails from students who are trying to submit their papers in the Assignment section of Blackboard. Although many can do this, others have written me comments such as this: “I have been trying to attach my assignment to the posting board under the assignment tab for the past couple of days and I can’t figure out why it won't work. Every time I try to attach it, I get a warning telling me to attach a valid file.”

This is a Known Issue in Blackboard, but only affects students using the Firefox web browser version 3.01 or higher and Internet Explorer (IE) 8.0. The work-around is to tell students that they need to submit their assignments using a computer with a compatible web browser. For example, IE version 7 or below, Safari, or Firefox 2 or below.
